The Danish Way

Scandi-cool and Danish finesse, Copenhagen is in the lead for the perfect blend of playful prints and edgy minimalism. This week, the city is filled with editors, bloggers, buyers and photographers eager to get a glimpse into the Danish art of easy dressing. To kick off Fashion Week, we gathered some of Denmark’s most remarkable influencers for an intimate brunch at Hotel Ottilia.

Raw concrete meets modern, minimalistic décor at Hotel Ottilia—one of Copenhagen’s most exclusive new addresses. The industrial-style hotel is located at the center of Carlsberg City District, where hip boutiques, restaurants and cafés are shaping Copenhagen’s new it-district. With a stunning suite as our home for the day, we gave our guests a luxurious welcome and invited talented Danish makeup artist Kate Cher and two fantastic hair stylists from Kimoli—one of Vesterbro’s most trendy hair salons. After getting a professional touch-up from the stylists, we treated our favorite Danish influencers, including @sandrawiller, @irinathediva and @annabriandh, to exclusive iDeal of Sweden goodies to hit the Danish capital of cool.

To help you get as scandi-proof as our influencers and explore Copenhagen à la iDeal of Sweden, we’ve collected our favorite Copenhagen-inspired styles, along with the places you just have to visit:

Where to Stay

Copenhagen is filled with wonderful boutique hotels to make your stay one to remember. Next to Hotel Ottilia, Hotel Sanders, Hotel Danmark or Nobis Hotel will be your heaven on earth if you’re looking for gorgeous interiors. Exquisite design is Copenhagen’s signature trait, and the city is beaming with charismatic coolness. Hotel SP34 is another favorite with captivating green interiors and delicious organic food to tantalize your taste buds!

Wine and Dine

Great restaurants and bars are at every corner in beautiful Copenhagen. For a good cup of coffee and a tasty breakfast, head to Apollo, Louise Roe Gallery or Sonny to get energized for the day. If you’re looking for a family-style restaurant filled with life and chatter, Spaghetteria will instantly become your home away from home. For something extraordinary, Bazaar has you covered with an exquisite middle-eastern menu from vegan mezze to their signature Bazaar Royale cocktail—an exciting blend of whiskey and lavender. Warpigs provides a tasty draft beer in a hip setting. And for a final stop after a fun-filled Copenhagen evening, Dandy and PS Bar & Grill are two of the city’s trendiest clubs.

What to See

Along with dining at Copenhagen’s most notable restaurants and taking in inspiring shows, be sure to make time to enjoy the city’s artistic vibe. Find inspiration at the Danish Design Museum or Glyptoteket—a  magical place to experience art in a new and exciting way. The private collection includes more than 10,000 art pieces and archaeological finds.

If you happen to be a fan of the works of famous Danish star-architect Bjarke Ingels, you may also want to stop by  8 Tallet or “8 House”—one  of the designer’s most iconic works based in Ørestad, Copenhagen. Superkilen Park is another highlight, where the open urban space is dedicated to celebrating diversity. Believe us… You have never seen a park like this!

Labels to Watch

We all love Ganni, Baum und Pferdgarten, Samsøe & Samsøe, Gestuz and Stine Goya, but let’s not forget the new kids on the block. Freya Dalsjø, Blanche, and  Rotate are showing their captivating designs at this year’s fashion week. If you’re still looking for that one-of-a-kind Copenhagen souvenir, stop by Manulu Vintage or Paloma for an exquisite collection of vintage items. Our favorites, Normann Copenhagen and the Gubi store, will round off your shopping spree and tempt your interior dreams with stylish items straight out of Danish design heaven. We have one more exciting secret for you: There’s a Ganni outlet that you definitely don’t want to miss!
